Undergraduate Webinar
Welcome to the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences. Our Faculty is the largest of the seven Faculties in the university and is active on three campuses namely South Campus and Second Avenue Campus in Summerstrand, and George Campus in the Southern Cape. The character of our Faculty fits perfectly into the ethos and character of a comprehensive university such as Nelson Mandela University. Here our students can enrol for a Higher Certificate qualification and eventually graduate with a PhD qualification. Our B Com Chartered Accountant graduates consistently achieve above the national average pass rates in the Initial Test of Competence (ITC) examination. The programmes on offer in the School have been accredited by various international and national organisations. This opens doors for our graduates on an international platform. Our Business School is rated among the top business schools globally and on the African continent. Overall, the Nelson Mandela University Business School is ranked no.5 in South Africa.
We investigate the changing nature of social, economic, political, technological and cultural aspects of society, with a particular focus on developing countries. In addition we provide highly relevant and vocationally rich programmes in Tourism and Hospitality Management at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The aim of the School for Industrial and Organisational Psychology and Human Resources is to develop knowledge and skills through the curricular activities we present to our students across a broad range of under- and postgraduate programmes. The motto of our School, “We Care”, is realised through our active promotion of student and community engagement. In the School of Management Sciences we aim to acquaint our students with the world of business, management, finance and entrepreneurship in order to become informed, productive and responsible managers of own and others’ business establishments. Our students come to understand the world of markets, finance, logistics, operations, information systems, policy and strategy, all with a focus on organisational management.
